Development should not be stopped.

I remember, in 1956, when town buses were introduced in Palani, the horse cart fellows protested.

In 1968,when I was in a Steel Plant in West Bengal, there was a 7 day strike by Communist trade union objecting the introduction of computer system for accounting and pay roll process.

Think where we would have been without town buses and computers!

There are already big malls operating in big cities by Indian as well as MNC (METRO)

It is very convenient,economical,comfortable,hygienic and easy to choose and shop in malls than in small traditional shops.

Also food items are not wasted, they are shipped direct from field to malls.Compund profits at multiple tiers of traders are avoided.

The present retailers will either compete or find some other way of trading and business.

But the general public will stand to gain immensely.

Jaya's opposition is more political than practical.

By objecting to retail FDI, she is robbing the general public of the immense benefits of great malls.
