You have just elaborated on my anguish over global Geo-political tensions and the resulting sufferings of the common man.
But what can be done - The world is ruled by politicians, not by Saints or Sadhus or Fakirs.

Egypt is going to totter from benevolent dictatorship to Military rule to Taliban type rule. The Russian revolution was taken over by the communists. The mighty USSR has been reduced to petty states ruled by criminals. Iran is in a state in misery as far as the Aam Admi is concerned. Common man's lot has only worsened with coming of democracy. In China, the party has given over to military black marketers. The only bright spot in this changing scenario is unification of the two Germanys and a stable political system.
Mankind's future is bleak. Some light seems to be emerging in India but the Pak-China-Taliban axis will not let democracy take firm roots in India. Scams increase when the bogey of Pak/China-Taliban is raised. It seems that the third law of thermodynamics prevails. Just as the universe is degenerating by conversion of matter into energy (entropy increase), similarly the Aam Admi is being ground into slavery.
The more things change, the more they remain the same!!!!
Justice, Equality and Fraternity is giving way to Might is Right, Honesty only amongst and for thieves and rule by the crooked!
