America's War on terrorism

Dear Sir,

I am now in Sunnyvale, California, USA for the past one month.

This letter has reference to the letter by Amina Omer.

I want to share some of my thoughts on America's war on terror.

On 9/11 Americans remembered the 10th anniversary of the twin tower terrorist act.

In every place, small or lrage, there were solemn gatherings of people remembering and prying for the thousands of innocent

men and women who were killed in the twin tower`destruction.

American government and American people strongly believe that the terrorists

who are enemies of the USA have to be fought and destroyed wherever they are.

They believe that is the best way to defend their country.

Taliban is number 1 enemy of the USA.

So the US and NATO forces are waging war against them in Afganisthan, their native land of origin.

The north west part of Pakistan is a lawless land with feudal tribalism, private armies.

This zone bordering Afganistahn has become the hiding place, training place for the Taliban.

Though the Pakistahan Government is trying its best to rid this area of terrorist, it has failed.

The Americans on the hot pursuit of their national enemy are striking at the suspected hideouts in Pakistan.

Most of the violence in Pakistan is caused by Taliban and the sectarian violence between Sunni and Shia.

As is everywhere, common people die caught in the crossfire or in bomb blasts.

I was in Kuala Lumpur during June to Aug 2011.

I saw that Malaysia is a garden of peace.

Why? Because the Malaysian Government never allowed any trace of terrorist on its soil.

Though it is a Muslim majority country, Malaysians do not allow any Islamic terrorism in Malaysia.

And hence there is no reason why America should attack Malaysia.

But that is not the case with Pakistan.

There are many sects, parts of government, ISI, the army who collaborate and support the terrorist acts.

And the result is bloodshed of innocent people.

Iraq's Saddam Hussein was totally belligerent towards the US and was encouraging acts against the US.

Hence he had to be eliminated along with his regime.

But the sectarian violence that followed was not expected to be so bad and so long lasting.

In fact the US is finding itself in a tight coner not able to withdraw its troops from Iraq, in the face of strong domestic opposition

to the continuation of war in Iraq.

If Pakistani people are victims of terrorism, the Iraq people have suffeered the most.

But the sense prevaing in the US now is to fight and finish off its enemies.

Till then the Americans will not stop the war on terrorism.
