Russia has warned that the threat by Israel to strike Iran will result in serious consequences. But read the link above. This threat seems hollow. It does not speak of retaliatory action by Russia, which has supplied the Bhushahar nuclear plant in Iran. There are intelligent reports appearing in the US that Iran is already reached the ability level to produce nuclear weapons. Like Israel, other gulf countries are uneasy and afraid of the nuclear armed neighbour of ruled by religious leaders.
The threat by Israel is nothing but the threat by USA moonlighted in disguise.
The danger is, unlike in the last decade, Russia, under Putin, has recuperated the energy and vitality of the global super power that it was in earstwhile USSR. Russia wants to increas its influence over the middle east and Europe.
When USA struck at Iraq in 2001, USSR was breaking up and Russia was in shambles. It did not have the power to question US war actions. But now Russia has changed and is willing to take part and assert in world affairs involving geo-political influences.
So it is not so easy this time for the US-Israel combo to take military action on Iran.
